Free WiFi from Google Chrome for the Holidays (on AirTran, Delta, and Virgin America)
This holiday season, Google Chrome has teamed up with AirTran Airways, Delta, and Virgin America to offer free Gogo Inflight Wi-Fi on every domestic flight from November 20, 2010 through January 2, 2011. These participating airlines have outfitted their entire domestic fleet with Gogo Inflight Wi-Fi, and we expect more connected passengers this holiday season than ever before!
As a frequent flyer, I can’t overstate how much WiFi means to me on my regular cross-country flights. Instead of six hours of productivity squandered, Internet in the air means we can work (or surf reddit) for nearly the entire duration of the flight.
This WiFi giveaway is a pretty fabulous to get people excited about Google Chrome, but it did also mean that many of us on my last flight were locked out of access as there were too many connections.
That said, it’s important to remember the advice of the sagacious Louis C.K. at times like that.
Now if only we could do something about that awkward moment upon landing when you check your phone for new email and realize you’ve got none because you just logged out of Gmail only 15 minutes earlier…
